Entrepose Contracting and VINCI Construction Major Projects win a contract to build LNG storage tanks for the Wheatstone project in Australia

Entrepose Projets, a subsidiary of Entrepose Contracting and VINCI Construction Grands Projets, both subsidiaries of VINCI, have just signed a joint venture agreement with Thiess Pty Ltd, a subsidiary of Leighton Holdings Limited, a contract worth approximately AUD 500 million (approximately €400 million) for the engineering, procurement and construction of two double-walled storage tanks for liquefied natural gas (LNG) a unit capacity of 150,000 cubic metres, as well as two condensate storage tanks with a unit capacity of 120,000 cubic metres.

This contract is expected to create approximately 475 jobs in the Pilbara region of Western Australia; 75% of the recruitment will be made in Australia, 55% of which will be made in Western Australia. The aboriginal community will be heavily involved in the project.

The Wheatstone project, operated by Chevron, is a liquefied natural gas and domestic gas project managed by Bechtel Australia located near Onslow in northwestern Australia. It is one of the largest natural resource projects in the country. The contract, which is effective immediately, provides for construction from July 2013 to September 2016. Entrepose Projets and VINCI Construction Grands Projets have built more than 30 liquefied natural gas storage tanks in 10 countries over the last twenty years, Including three tanks with a unit capacity of 180 000 cubic metres for the Gate regasification terminal in the Netherlands in 2011.
