Project Skikda continues

In Skikda, some 300 km east of Algiers on the Mediterranean coast, where the country’s largest cryogenic storage tank complex is under construction, the teams of EVO, a group that brings together Entrepose Contracting, VINCI Construction Grands Projets (subsidiaries of ) and Orascom, have launched the simultaneous construction of three storage tanks: one for liquefied natural gas (150,000 m³), the other two for butane and propane (66,200 m³ each).

Freyssinet, a subsidiary of Soletanche Freyssinet (VINCI Construction), is responsible for the pre-stressing (1,000 t steel) of the three structures. The project, which also includes construction of a 3,600 m³ sphere, began in July 2008 and is expected to be completed by December 2011.
