A new contract to build one LNG storage tank in the UK
Entrepose Contracting, VINCI Construction Grands Projets and Taylor Woodrow, subsidiaries of VINCI Construction, have been awarded an EPC* contract by National Grid to build a 190,000 m³ liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage tank in the United Kingdom.
Located on Grain Island – England’s east coast, 60 km from London – this project is part of the programme to expand the capacity of Europe’s largest LNG terminal.
This “full integrity” tank has an internal 9% nickel steel tank and an external prestressed concrete enclosure poured on site using sliding forms. The 200 million euro project will run until June 2025.
Entrepose Contracting has already built some 20 LNG storage tanks worldwide over the past 15 years. Entrepose Contracting is recognized for its ability to meet the expectations of major players in the sector and confirms its leading position in the design-construction of large cryogenic storages in any type of environment.
